Festival Volunteers

By volunteering, you are helping the citizens of Morro Bay and the Central Coast.

It is the enthusiasm of our volunteers that carries our event and puts both the volunteer groups and the Festival in a win-win situation. With your help behind the scenes, we are able to provide the Central Coast with a fun, family-oriented event set against the beautiful backdrop of the waterfront. We are proud to provide an annual venue to help nonprofit groups throughout the county in publicizing their various causes, goals, and special projects while earning much needed revenue.

Volunteer Coordinator Dawn Owens can be contacted at volunteers@mbhf.com.

Nonprofit Volunteer Program

The Morro Bay Harbor Festival serves as a fundraiser for San Luis Obispo County nonprofit organizations. Substantial proceeds from the Morro Bay Harbor Festival are shared with nonprofit groups who help crew the waterfront weekend. Each group is reimbursed in proportion to the time the group donated. The Festival Volunteer program has been recognized on city, county and state levels for its collaborative approach to fundraising. Since 1987, the Festival Volunteer Program has awarded more than $435,000 to participating nonprofit groups.

Nonprofit Volunteer Groups must have at least 6 members in order to participate in the Morro Bay Harbor Festival Nonprofit Volunteer Program. If your group does not meet the requirements listed please consider volunteering as an Individual Volunteer.  However, all individual hours worked at the festival will be credited back to the festival.

Organizations interested in volunteering for the event should fill out an application to volunteer. Applications are available by stopping by the Festival Office, calling
(805) 772-1155, or by downloading the forms below.
